Weeks 1–2 · Comfortable
Text size, brightness, volume and turning it off properly.
Four programs of 6 to 10 weeks, all at your own pace, with written steps after every session.
We start with the device in your hand, not a general lesson. Making text and icons larger usually changes everything on its own. Then we cover finding apps, closing them, charging, and what to do when something looks different from yesterday.
Text size, brightness, volume and turning it off properly.
Home screen, finding apps, going back.
Camera, clock, notes and the weather.
What to do when something changes or disappears.
Picking up a video call without panic.
Saving contacts and starting a call yourself.
Taking, finding and sending pictures to the family.
The most requested program, by a distance. We practice answering a call until it's automatic, then making one. Then photos: taking, finding and sending them. We practice together, repeatedly, until you don't need notes.
Scammers target older adults deliberately and they are good at it. We go through the real patterns — the urgent call from “your bank”, the grandchild in trouble, the gift card request — and agree simple rules: hang up and call back on a number you look up yourself. We also set up passwords you can actually manage.
What real scams look and sound like, with examples.
Hang up, look up the number, call back. Every time.
A system you can manage, written down safely at home.
Who to call, what to freeze, and why it isn't your fault.
Reading, replying, and what to ignore.
Searching, going back, and recognizing advertisements.
Booking, confirming and adding it to a calendar.
Filling in, checking and submitting without losing your work.
The practical things that are increasingly hard to avoid: an email account you can use, booking a doctor's appointment online, filling in a form without losing it halfway, and finding your way back when a website swallows you. We write down every step so you can do it again alone.
Thirty minutes, free, on the one thing that frustrates you most. No jargon, no rushing.
